Important: Your Consent
By continuing to use our services you are giving unambiguous consent to the recording and processing of the cookies and non-sensitive personal data below. Regading your sensitive information, also below, your action of filling-out our forms to communicate it to us constitutes clear affirmative action and explicit consent.

When you use Web-Stat's services, we may collect certain informations from you. Here is a list of each piece of data we may hold, its purpose, how long it is kept, who it is shared with and how you can request its deletion:

  1. Your email address

    Purpose: we do not require that you share your email in order to use our services. That information is needed only if you opt to receive our stats by mail, notifications of downtime, notifications of new visitors or notifications of new conversions. Each one of these emails contains at the bottom an 'unsubscribe' link.

    In the event we do have your email, we may contact you for the following events.

    1. Confirmation of account creation
    2. Imminent expiration of your subscription
    3. Monthly invoices if you requested to receive them by email
    4. Answer to a support request
    5. Promotional offer to try our premium service for free (one message during the life of the account)
    6. Important information about your account (rare)

    Kept for: the life of the account. Deleted 60 days after account's expiration

    Shared with: no one

    Request deletion: simply let us know

  2. Your name and address

    Purpose: we do not require that you share these in order to use our services. This information is needed only if you purchase an account, in order to process your payment. We also use it to create our invoices.

    Kept for: the life of the account. Deleted 60 days after account's expiration

    Shared with: our credit card processor if you are paying by credit card, otherwise, no one.

    Request deletion: if you have a paying account you will need to cancel it. We will then delete this information. Please let us know as needed

  3. Your credit card information

    Purpose: we do not require that you share your credit card info in order to use our services. This information is needed only if you purchase an account and opt to pay by credit card. Your credit card info is transmitted via a secure connection, then encrypted before being stored on a secure server.

    Kept for: the life of the account. Deleted 60 days after account's expiration

    Shared with: only our credit card processor.

    Request deletion: if you have a paying account and are using a credit card as your means of payment, you will need to change to another payment method (Paypal, check). This can be done from the top section of the Settings Panel. Alternatively you can cancel your subscription all together, also from the Settings Panel. We will then delete your credit card information. Please contact us if you have further questions.

  4. Service Cookies

    Purpose: when you use our site, we write cookies on your computer. This is done to facilitate your navigation (for instance for the site to 'remember' your login ID when you navigate the stats). None of these cookies aim to identify you as a natural person, and none are shared with a third party. Here is a list:

    • accept_cookies: written if you are not in the EU, or if you are in the EU and have given your consent to the use of cookies. This is needed to know if we are allowed to write any of the other cookies below. Stored for one year.
    • wts_rcp: stores the result of the last Google Captcha, so you don't have to check that you are human on each page. Stored for the duration of your session.
    • font_size: stores your preferred font size for the recent visitors report. Stored for one year.
    • send_report_to: stores the address to which you last emailed a report. This allows you to not have to re-type that information if you send reports repetitively. Stored for one month.
    • loginID: stores your loginID if you view your stats, or our demo stats. Stored for the duration of your session.
    • WXF: used to orientate your navigation to a particular server behind our load balancer
    • clustering: stores one of your map display preferences
    • cumul_map_type: stores one of your map display preferences
    • map_init_lat: stores one of your map display preferences
    • map_init_long: stores one of your map display preferences
    • map_init_zoom: stores one of your map display preferences
    • map_style: stores one of your map display preferences
    • n_points: stores one of your map display preferences
    • period_w: stores your period preference for the daily reports
    • cr_login: your encrypted login info if you want the login form to remember you
    • remember: set if you want the login form to remember you
    • last_DBUpdate: set every time your stats are updated in order to make sure you get fresh data
    • io_xxxx: identifies you as the owner of the account so that we can exclude you from the stats if you request it from the Settings Panel
    • transact1: encrypted cookie set to help with the payment processing when you purchase our service
    • transact2: encrypted cookie set to help with the payment processing when you purchase our service
    • options: encrypted cookie set to help with the payment processing when you purchase our service
    • key: encrypted cookie set to prevent the submission of our forms by robots

    We may add more cookies in the future to facilitate the use of our site. If you notice a new cookie and wish information about it, please contact us

    Kept for the life of the account: clustering, cumul_map_type, map_init_lat, map_init_long, map_init_zoom, map_style, n_points, period_w, cr_login, remember,last_DBUpdate, io_xxxx

    Kept until you close your browser: WXF, accept_cookies, transct1, transact2, options, key

    Kept for 30 minutes: loginID

    Shared with: no one.

    Request deletion: you can delete your cookies at any time from your browser's Preferences > Privacy & Security

  5. Analytics Cookies

    Web-Stat will write the following 5 cookies as part of its own analytics:

    • tll_xxxx: this cookies records the timestamp of the visitor's last visit. It is written for an undefinite duration
    • sid_xxxx: this cookies records the session ID so that we can recognize the visitor from page to page. It expires when the brower is closed.
    • vid_xxxx: this cookies records the visitor ID so that we can recognize him when he comes back to your site. It is written for an undefinite duration
    • nv_xxxx: this cookies records the number of times a visitor has been to your site. It is written for an undefinite duration
    • or_xxxx: this cookies records the original referrer which first sent the visitor to your site. It is written for an undefinite duration

    These cookies do not have any other purpose than to generate our stats. They do not track users across web sites and are not shared with anyone else.

Important note: the cookies and traffic data that we collect are not shared with anyone.
